THINGS TO DO

Sint Maarten/St. Martin have about 35 beaches on both parts of the island, French and Dutch, and each one different in their own way.  Orient Beach is often referred to as “Saint Tropez of the Caribbean” while Dawn Beach is laid back, quiet, with good snorkeling.  Grand Case offers not only a beach, but a mile-long strip of the finest restaurants outside of France.  With almost 400 restaurants, there is a different dining experience for every day of the year!  Philipsburg and Marigot offer duty-free shopping at more advantageous prices than elsewhere.  This is why the deluxe boutiques, jewelry, precious stones, perfumes, designer clothes, etc. are represented in St. Martin.

Some possible activities:

· The St. Maarten Zoo with a collection of neotropical animals

· The Butterfly Farm (even men are entranced by these creatures)   You may see a butterfuly emerging as you watch!

· “Americas Cup Races” in Great Bay offer the excitement and fun of racing to even the rankest amateur

· Catamaran trips around the island or to other islands

· Many different water sports from scuba diving, wind surfing, kite surfing, ‘rhino’ rides to snorkeling grounds, and even a “Submarine” trip to sit and see the underwater action

· Nightlife is exciting with night clubs featuring parties at one or another spot each night of the week

· Casino fun at any one of the casinos on the Dutch side of the island
